Accessibility Statement
Counting should be effortless for everyone. This page explains what TallyLume and this website support today, what we measure, and what still needs work.
Our conformance target
TallyLume and tallylume.com aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We treat that as a floor rather than a finish line, and we re-test whenever we ship a content change.
The app
TallyLume is built on Apple's native frameworks, so it inherits the accessibility features you already have configured on your device. The app supports:
- VoiceOver — every control, counter and chart carries a meaningful label.
- Voice Control — controls are reachable and operable by voice.
- Larger Text — the interface scales with Dynamic Type, and long habit names stay readable.
- Dark Interface — a full dark appearance that follows your system setting.
- Differentiate Without Color Alone — status is never carried by colour on its own.
- Sufficient Contrast — text and controls meet contrast minimums throughout.
This list covers iPhone; accessibility support is declared separately for each device.
This website
- Automated axe-core testing against WCAG 2.2 AA rules, with zero serious or critical findings on the pages we publish.
- Full keyboard operation with a visible focus indicator on every control, and a skip link to the main content.
- Interactive targets of at least 24×24 CSS pixels (WCAG 2.5.8).
- Reflow to a 320 pixel viewport with no horizontal scrolling (WCAG 1.4.10).
- A pause control for the background animation, kept in the header at every screen size and remembered between visits (WCAG 2.2.2).
- Respect for the "reduce motion" system setting, which stops all animation on the site.
- 15 languages with correct language attributes, including right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew.
- No third-party scripts, trackers or embeds that could change behaviour behind your back.
Known exceptions
We would rather name these than quietly leave them out:
A single light appearance
This website ships one light colour scheme and does not follow the system dark-mode setting. Contrast is tested against that scheme. The app itself does offer a full dark interface.
Decorative background video
Two silent, looping background videos appear on wide screens only. They carry no information, are hidden from assistive technology, never play on phones, and stop entirely when "reduce motion" is on or when you use the pause control.
Machine-assisted translations
The 14 non-English versions of this site are reviewed for register and terminology but are not certified translations. If something reads wrong in your language, please tell us.
